Ball-point game

A scrum classic — pass tennis balls through every team-mate's hands.

8.7 trust impact 6–24 (in teams of 6–8) Medium energy 45 min

The ball-point game teaches sprints, retrospectives and process improvement in 30 minutes. Each round: pass as many tennis balls as you can through every team-mate's hands, with no two consecutive people passing in sequence. Score after each sprint, retro, then sprint again.

How to run it

  1. 1

Stand in a circle of 8.

  2. 2

Goal: pass each tennis ball through every team-mate's hands once.

  3. 3

Constraints: every ball must have air time, no two adjacent people in sequence, only one person touching a ball at a time.

  4. 4

Sprint 1: 2 minutes. Score. Retro 2 minutes. Sprint 2. Repeat for 4 sprints.
